    Morning Training: 

    Are They Good for Your Kids? Child Sexual Abuse Prevention

    Child sexual abuse is preventable when adults educate themselves and take precautions to keep children safe. The workshop covers grooming behaviors of perpetrators, healthy child sexual development, and provides actionable steps that decrease risk of abuse.

     

     

    Afternoon Training: 

    When You See Something Concerning: Green Dot Active Bystander Training to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

    Training done by SVRC of the Bluegrass Green Dot Trainer Amanda Allen

    Child sexual abuse is preventable when adults know what to look for and know what to do when they see something concerning. This guilt-free, interactive workshop teaches you to identify warning signs of child sexual abuse and identify your own barriers to stepping in as a bystander. It also covers the 3 Ds of active bystander intervention and gives you practice time in a safe and cooperative space.

    Food is provided free for all attendees:

    A light breakfast of bagels and coffee have been donated by Grounded All Day for the morning training.

    BBQ lunch has been donated by J. Renders for trainees who attend one or both workshops. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate most dietary requests but will do our best.

  • Childcare is available and free for all workshop attendees.

    Children will be cared for by YMCA-certified babysitters in the play area of The Nest Advocacy Center, immediately upstairs from the workshop area. If you have childcare needs, please answer the questions below.
