Is your child a rising 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader at O’Hara Elementary who loves art? Would they love the chance to leave their mark on O’Hara? Are they excited about the new mural coming to the common area this summer?
If so, they’re the perfect fit for our second Artist Residency Project - O'Hara Summer Mural Camp, led by Artist Alison Zapata this June, with support from Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media and the PA Council on the Arts!
This camp has three different sessions. If you want to attend all three camps, you must sign up for each session. Spots are limited, and registration is first-come, first-served. There is a registration fee for each week.
Session 1: Mural Design Week, June 8th - 10th, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Campers come together with Alison to create the concept and design of the mural.
Session 2: Mural Painting Camp Week, June 29th - July 2nd, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Get ready to paint with Alison! Students will help with all aspects of painting the mural.
Session 3: Mural Fillers and Finishers Parent Week, July 6th - July 10th, 12:00 PM- 3:00 PM: Parents are invited to join their student in helping complete the mural. This is a parent and student partner week, not a drop-off program.
We will reveal the mural at our annual Back to School Social!
If the registration fee is cost-prohibitive, please reach out to our school guidance counselor, Jennifer Squeglia, at Jennifer_Squeglia@fcasd.edu.
If your student is no longer able to attend the camp, please let us know so we can allow another student the opportunity to sign up.
No refunds will be issued if your student's registration is cancelled one week before each camp.
This form will be available at 9:00 AM on April 20, 2026.
