This award recognizes CDEM members whose sustained contributions have advanced undergraduate emergency medicine education. Contributions may be local, regional, or national, but should show impact, dissemination, leadership, or influence beyond routine assigned duties.
Applicants must be active CDEM members and have at least five total years as faculty in a formal undergraduate medical education role. The years do not need to be continuous or at the same institution. Faculty without a formal role may still be nominated for exceptional achievement if they include a letter of support from a clerkship director or chair explaining how they meet the criteria.
Before starting, please have the following ready to upload:
- A personal statement (500 words)
- A current CV
- An education portfolio (maximum 5 pages; a template is available if needed)
- A letter of support from a clerkship director or chair, only if the applicant does not have a formal undergraduate medical education role
Applications are accepted throughout the year. The CDEM Awards & Grants Committee will review each application against the award criteria, and applicants will be notified after a scheduled review. Recipients will be recognized at the CDEM All-Member meeting and featured in the CDEM Newsletter and SAEM Pulse.
