Have you ever wanted to learn Tunisian Crochet? Now is your chance! Come join us and learn the basics of Tunisian Crochet with Eileen Gaisser! We will meet on 4 consecutive Saturdays: Mar 28, Apr 4, Apr 11 and Apr 18 from 3-5 pm. This is NOT a beginner class. To participate, you must already have some basic crochet skills (chain and single crochet stitches) and/or be a continental knitter. The reasoning behind this is that crochet and continental knitting require holding the working yarn in your left hand. Those who knit with the working yarn in their right hand (throwers) will find this awkward to get used to and likely fall behind quickly.
The cost for the class is $60 plus yarn (approx $15). This includes all 4 classes totaling 8 hours of instruction. You will learn 5 different stitches, how to change color, and how to increase/decrease stitches. We will spend time during the last class selecting and starting a project of your choice.
You will also need a size K Tunisian crochet hook. You can bring your own or purchase one from the shop ($6.20 + tax).
The yarn for this class must be purchased from Strings 'n Things. We are recommending a low cost worsted weight yarn. You will need 2 skeins, each in a different color. You can purchase your yarn any time prior to the class. If you wait to purchase the day of the class, please plan to arrive by 5:30. You may also purchase any other yarn we carry in the shop but you will have to do so ahead of time as we will NOT be winding the day of the class. Also, let me know that you are purchasing your yarn for the class so you get your 15% discount!
Payment is due on or before the first day of class. Class size will be small, no more than 5 people.
When you submit your registration, you will receive an email confirming your spot. All of this information will be provided in an attached document. Please save it!
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the 28th!
