The Princess Pageant celebrates Indigenous girls while showcasing Siksikaitsitapi culture and heritage. The crowned Miss Siksikaitsitapi winners will represent the Siksikaitsitapi - Blackfoot Confederacy as ambassadors throughout the year by continuing and sharing the rich traditions, culture, and heritage of Indigenous peoples. The crowned Miss Siksikaitsitapi winners will represent the Siksikaitsitapi & the Blackfoot Confederacy and Excite Lethbridge.
Pageant contestants compete in one of three categories: Senior, Junior, Tinytot. Applicants will be scored by points on their speech, dance, and talent. They will also be given points for participation in the Whoop-Up Days Parade. There will be a Blackfoot Confederacy Float for participants. Winners are crowned on Wednesday, August 19th at the Siksikaitsitapi Powwow.
There will be a Pageant Orientation around August 17th. Pageant Orientation will include contestants, parents/chaperones/guardians. Details will be sent closer to the event.
The deadline for the application is July 31st.
