  • PGSA All-Star and Tournament Teams

The objective of PGSA All-Star Teams is to recognize players who have demonstrated exceptional softball skills, commitment, and good sportsmanship, and provide them an opportunity to play post-season. Players are voted onto All-Star Teams by the Head Coaches (Manager-of- Record) and Assistant Coaches (Coach-of-Record) within the respective division(s). PGSA Tournament Teams may be available for players who applied but were not selected to an All-Star Team but would like to continue to play with PGSA after the Spring Season is completed. Playing on PGSA All-Star and Tournament Teams requires time and financial commitment from the player and the parents.

  • Eligibility

All PGSA players registered for the Spring Season are eligible to participate on a PGSA All-Star Team or Tournament Team, so long as they are not on another sanctioned team roster during All-Stars season. They must be removed from any other roster immediately on selection to All-Star team to avoid disqualification of both teams.

    • A copy of the player's birth certificate and picture must be on file with PGSA prior to All-Star selection and provided to the All-Star team coach upon selection.

    • Time Commitment: All-Star and Tournament Team practices and tournaments will begin shortly after PGSA closing ceremonies. If your daughter is selected to be on an All-Star Team or a Tournament Team, you should expect practices several times per week and tournaments most weekends until the State Tournament. Some tournaments may require out-of-town travel. It is crucial to the success of the team that your daughter attend all practices and be available for their Division’s District and State tournaments listed below, at minimum:

    Financial Commitment:

For All-Star Teams, PGSA will fund one USA Softball District and State tournament entry fees along with $125/player for uniforms ($1,500 maximum per team). All additional expenses (such as extra uniforms, helmets, bags) and fees are the team’s responsibility and will not be funded by PGSA. Teams are 100% financially responsible for all team expenses, which are estimated to be a minimum of $500 per player. All-Star Teams may conduct fundraising events and obtain sponsors to help cover expenses. Each player may also obtain individual sponsors to cover expenses.
