Does submitting this form guarantee acceptance?
No. Submission of this form does not guarantee inclusion in Alternating Currents. Festival organizers reserve the right to approve, decline or suggest modifications to proposed programming to ensure overall festival alignment, scheduling balance and logistical feasibility.
Are artists and performers expected to be paid?
Yes. Alternating Currents strongly values artist compensation and encourages all participating organizations to fairly compensate artists, performers and creative contributors whenever possible.
Can events charge admission?
At this time, programming promoted as part of Alternating Currents is generally expected to be free and publicly accessible unless otherwise approved by festival organizers.
Will Alternating Currents provide production support?
Not necessarily. Production support varies depending on the type of participation and any prior agreements in place. Independently produced events are generally responsible for their own staffing, production, permitting and equipment unless otherwise coordinated with the AC team.
Can I submit an idea even if details are still being finalized?
Yes. We understand some programming may still be in development. Please provide as much information as possible so our team can better evaluate the proposal and determine next steps.
When will I hear back?
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Response timing may vary depending on submission volume and completeness of information provided. In general, applicants can expect to hear back from organizers within 10 business days.
