South Dallas Cultural Center – Black Music Month Visual Arts Open Call 2026
  • South Dallas Cultural Center – Black Music Month Visual Arts Open Call 2026

Black Music Month, also known as African American Music Appreciation Month, is celebrated throughout June to honor the contributions of Black musicians and their impact on American music, culture, and history. This exhibition seeks visual artwork inspired by African American musical traditions, including spirituals, gospel, blues, jazz, funk, hip hop, and more. The South Dallas Cultural Center invites artists to submit work that interprets, responds to, or celebrates the rich history and cultural influence of Black music. Selected artworks will be displayed throughout the Center during the month of June 2026.
  • SDCC Mission: The South Dallas Cultural Center provides programs in the performing, literary, and visual arts with an emphasis on the African contribution to world culture. We facilitate enriching and dynamic opportunities for the Dallas community to experience, examine, and celebrate black creative culture.
