During this one-hour immersion in nature, participants will connect with the natural world in an intentional way through a variety of invitations. The experience will be a slow wandering through very accessible nature areas right around downtown Los Alamos.
This is a one-time release form and does not have to be completed each time the middle or high school teen participates. However, the release form must be on file with JJAB for the youth to participate.
Walks will be held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month (schedule is on the JJAB website). Participants will meet at 4 pm at the JJAB Office at 1907 Central Avenue.
The walk will be lead by a certified* JJAB employee and will last approximately one hour. The group will visit locations like Ashley Pond, Fuller Lodge, various trail heads, and other green spaces that are within walking distance of our downtown offices. Participants will not be transported to locations.
*Currently, two JJAB employees have provisional certification. Full certification is expected in May, once their final course requirement is complete.
