Eligibility
This opportunity is open to artists 18 years and older. Artists with a demonstrated interest in community-engaged work are strongly encouraged to apply.
Application Requirements
- Submit concept sketches/Preliminary concept sketches (may be conceptual, final approved design prior to printing)
- Designs should be vibrant, inclusive, and reflective of Franklin’s cultural diversity and values (see below for 'design needs).
- Share a portfolio of relevant past work (PDF or website link).
- A brief letter of intent/ design proposal.
Meet the Design Needs:
- Single-color artwork only (no gradients or shading)
- High contrast, bold line work
- Vector file preferred (.AI, .EPS, or high-resolution PDF)
- Minimum 300 DPI if raster
- Design size range (ex: max 11”x14” print area)
- Must reproduce clearly at small and large scale
- No copyrighted or trademarked imagery
Artist Design Selection will be based on the following:
- Creativity and originality
- Clarity in single-color format
- Alignment with program theme
- Suitability for live event production
- Community-centered design
Selected design artists will be notified via email.
Artist Support & Compensation
- If selected, artists will be contracted by the Town of Franklin (W9 will need to be submitted).
- A stipend will be provided for design mailed to the address you have shared above [$250 artist stipend]
- The Town of Franklin will receive non-exclusive rights to reproduce the selected design for promotional and merchandise purposes related to the Franklin Welcomes the World program. Artists retain copyright to their original work.
