- All those performing I’tikaaf must cooperate fully with the YCA Cultural Centre Masjid (YCCM) Management Committee members, staff, and volunteers.

The YCCM will not be held responsible for any personal property belonging to any participant that is lost, stolen, or damaged.

Every participant must be 18 years or older to take part in I’tikaaf.

All participants must be medically fit to stay overnight in the YCCM.

Each person is permitted to bring only one piece of luggage and/or one sleeping bag into the building.

No mattresses are allowed on the premises.

The YCCM will not provide Suhoor or Iftaar, and participants must make their own arrangements in advance.

The YCA kitchen must be kept clean at all times and may only be used for cleaning utensils and heating pre‑prepared food. Cooking is not permitted.

No consumption of food is allowed in the men’s or ladies’ Musallah, except for bottled water.

No visitors are allowed in the designated I’tikaaf areas. Visitors are not permitted to sleep over or remain in the masjid overnight; only registered I’tikaaf participants may stay on the premises after Isha.

From the start of Fajr until the end of Isha, all belongings must be neatly placed at the back of the prayer hall or in the designated area.

Un‑Islamic, abusive, disrespectful, threatening, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances and may result in immediate removal.

For safeguarding reasons, participants must follow all instructions from YCCM staff and volunteers at all times and must not enter restricted or staff‑only areas.

Fire exits must remain unobstructed at all times. In the event of a fire alarm or emergency, participants must immediately follow staff instructions.

Personal electrical appliances such as heaters, kettles, or cooking devices are not permitted unless explicitly approved by YCCM due to safety and fire‑risk concerns.

Sleeping areas must be used quietly and respectfully. Loud talking, gatherings, or playing media in sleeping areas is not permitted.

No unauthorised fundraising, lectures, or distribution of materials is allowed without prior consent from the YCCM management.

The YCCM reserves the right to eject any individual without notice if they are deemed to have broken any of the above rules.

The YCCM reserves the right to refuse any I’tikaaf application without providing an explanation.

Failure to comply with the above rules and general YCCM regulations may result in removal from the premises and possible further action.

All other YCCM guidelines and rules must be adhered to.
Behaviour
Un‑Islamic, abusive, disrespectful, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances and may result in immediate removal from the premises.
CCTV & Privacy
Please be aware that CCTV operates and records continuously throughout the building, including all public rooms and designated I’tikaaf areas, for the safety and security of all participants. By taking part in I’tikaaf, you acknowledge and accept that your presence may be recorded.
Data Protection (GDPR)
Your personal data will be used solely for managing I’tikaaf applications and ensuring safety. It will be stored securely, accessed only by authorised YCCM personnel, and not shared with third parties unless required by law. All information will be retained only for as long as necessary and then securely deleted. You may request access to or deletion of your data at any time in accordance with GDPR.
Disclaimer
The YCA Cultural Centre Masjid (YCCM) will not be liable for any loss or damage to participants or their property, however caused, during their stay on the premises. All participants must follow the designated rules, be medically fit to stay in the Musallah, and be at least 18 years of age.
Declaration
I acknowledge and accept the above disclaimer, have read the I’tikaaf rules and regulations, and agree to abide by them. I understand that I will be responsible for any damage caused to YCCM premises or property, and that any disturbance or misconduct may result in removal from the building. I also acknowledge that CCTV operates throughout the premises for safety and security, and I consent to being recorded while on site.
