(2) Confidentiality & how your information is used
We treat your information with care and respect. Because this is a group‑based programme (not individual therapy), confidentiality expectations differ slightly from typical counselling. Here is how we handle your information:
a. For the exploratory session and programme operations
We collect and use information you provide to: (i) assess suitability and safety; (ii) plan group composition and supports; (iii) coordinate logistics (e.g., venue, dietary needs).
Minimal necessary details may be shared within our clinical team and event operations team for safety and coordination.
b. Group etiquette & privacy limits
We invite all participants to honour group confidentiality (what is shared in the room stays in the room).
Because this is a group setting, we cannot guarantee other participants’ silence. We set norms, model good practice, and step in to protect safety.
c. Legal & ethical limits to confidentiality (apply to exploratory session and programme)
We will maintain confidentiality except in situations where we have an ethical/legal duty to disclose, including: (1) foreseeable suicide risk; (2) ongoing abuse of a child, elder, or person with disability; (3) intention to commit a crime; (4) imminent risk of harm to self/others/society; or (5) if information is subpoenaed by a court or relevant authority.
d. Evaluation
We will invite you to complete short pre/post questionnaires to evaluate programme effectiveness.
Your data rights (PDPA): You may request access/correction to your personal data, or withdraw consent to non‑essential uses. Some withdrawals may limit our ability to deliver services safely (e.g. if we cannot contact you in an emergency).
