Volunteer Roles
Below is a description of the roles for volunteers. Our shifts have been split into 2hr blocks at a time. The table below will ask you to select AM or PM availability on your prefered day. Feel free to tick more than one option if you would like volunteer for multiple shifts.
Wootha Exhibition - Entry, Ticketing, Exhibition
Entry ticketing involves the selling and checking of pre-paid tickets at exhibition entry. It may also involved helping people in the exhibition and taking people's choice award votes on on ipad.
This involves checking people in, taking cash and completing eftpos transactions,
managing entry and navigation of the venue, assisting and encouraging People’s Choice Voting.
Skills Preferred: Customer service, sales ability
Skills Required: Cash handling, eftpos, people management, able to stand and concentrate for over 2 hours.
Barung Landcare Nursery Tent
The Barung Landcare Nursery Tent sells native plants to Exhibition visitors, and and provides an opportunity to promote the work of Barung Landcare. A number of shifts will be available for nursery volunteers for sales and customer service roles as well as the set up and pack down of the display.
Skills preferred: Plant identification
Skills required: Cash handling, customer service
Montville Street Ambassadors
This role requires volunteers to locate in set positions in Montville to advertise and direct people to the Timber Trail events and Wootha Prize. There will be leaflets available to hand out.
Skills Required: be able to stand for at least 2 hours and engage actively with the public.
Raffle Sales
This role requires selling raffle tickets across the weekend. There will be some excellent prizes available on display.
Skills required: Money handling, eftpos, customer service.
Montville Village Hall Meet and Greet
This role requires volunteers to locate at the entry of the Montville Village Hall, warmly welcome people and direct people to the indoor stallholders/exhibitors and workshops on the verandah.
Skills Required: be able to stand for at least 2 hours and engage actively with the public
Makers Design Fair Gallery Host
This role requires volunteers to locate at the entry of The Edge Function Room, warmly welcome people and direct people to the indoor stallholders/exhibitors, and also support exhibitors if they need to assistance eg to mind the exhibition a few minutes if they need to step away etc.
Skills Required: be able to stand for at least 2 hours and engage actively with the public.
Timber Trail Survey Guide
This role requires volunteers to approach attendees as they exit the Village Hall precinct, explain why the Timber Trail is doing a survey and then administer the short paper survey, or guide people to a QR code so they can complete the survey on-line.
Skills Required: have an approachable demeanor, be able to stand for at least 2 hours and engage actively with the public.
Parking Greeter (Village Area)
This role requires volunteers to locate at the entrance of Memorial Close area and guide cars to appropriate parking.
Skills Required: be pleasantly directive while wearing a hi-vis vest, standing for at least 2 hours.
