  • 3. CIVIL WEDDING SERVICES

Civil wedding services provided by CNIS Immigration Services consist of notarial services related to completing the marriage certificate in accordance with applicable laws. CNIS Immigration Services does not act as a wedding officiant, and the service is limited to the completion and processing of the marriage certificate.

The civil wedding appointment includes the two individuals entering into the marriage and up to one (1) guest. Due to limited space in the office, no more than one guest will be permitted inside during the appointment.

Both parties must present valid government-issued identification at the time of the appointment.

Both parties must also confirm that they are legally eligible to marry, meaning that they have never been married before or that any prior marriages have been legally terminated through divorce or other legal means.

Following completion of the marriage certificate, CNIS Immigration Services will deliver the marriage certificate to the appropriate court for registration.

The court registration fee is currently $85 and must be paid in cash to CNIS Immigration Services on the day of the appointment. Court fees are set by the court and may change without notice.

Once the marriage certificate has been registered, the official marriage certificate will typically be available for pickup from the CNIS Immigration Services office on the next business day, excluding weekends and government holidays.

Clients may also request that their marriage certificate be mailed instead of picked up in person for an additional fee:

    • $20 for regular mail
    • $50 for express mail

CNIS Immigration Services will also provide the couple with a complimentary decorative marriage certificate for presentation purposes. This certificate is not a legal document and does not replace the official marriage certificate issued by the court.

If the civil wedding appointment is canceled within twelve (12) hours of the scheduled appointment time, no refund will be issued.

Saturday weddings are available at no additional cost.

Sunday weddings are available for an additional fee of $100.

After-hours weddings are available for an additional fee of $100, payable at the time of the appointment.
