In this workshop, learn to make unique monoprints using a gelli plate. There will be demonstrations of various printing techniques which will include painting and drawing on the plate, using stencils, layering, combining shapes and image transfers. Printing and rice papers are great to print on as well as found and old papers. You may then use these printed papers in collage. This will be a fun and productive day of printing and experimenting with different methods and materials.

- No experience necessary. All materials will be provided.

Maria Malatesta Bio
Maria is a painter that lives on Cape Ann which she says contributes to her artistic sensibility. She has the Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and a BS from Lesley University. She has been teaching art for more than 20 years and has taught at the Art Room in Topsfield, Montserrat College of Art, Rocky Neck Cultural Center and privately in her studio in SOWA in Boston.
