Dear Club President,

As we launch into a new Rotary year, our first priority is the safety of those we serve. To maintain our standing and protect our communities, all District 5450 Clubs must complete the Annual Youth & At-Risk Protection Affirmation by August 20th. This must be completed every fiscal year from July 1 through June 30.

Whether your club currently hosts youth programs or not, this mandatory filing ensures we are collectively meeting our legal and ethical obligations.

How to Complete Your Affirmation
- Before you begin, use this quick checklist to ensure your club is "Complliance Ready":
  - Review Requirements: Visit the https://rotary5450.org/sitepage/youth-at-risk-protection to view the Club Eligibility Flow Chart found on the left side of the page under related pages.
  - Confirm your Board has adopted RI and District 5450 Youth & At-Risk Protection Policy.
  - Identify Programs: Determine if your upcoming projects involve Frequent (regular/repeated or significant) or Infrequent (incidental, or one-off and insignificant) contact with protected individuals.
  - Vetting: Ensure all Rotarians and volunteers for frequent or a significant event are currently background-checked and vetted. In addition, high-contact programs Young Rotary, Interact, RYLA, Exchange, etc.) must be background checked.
SECTION 1: PARTICIPATION STATUS
EXEMPTION: Our Club anticipates NO CONTACT with "Protected Individuals" (Youth or At-Risk Adults) for the current year. Further, our Club presently has no involvement with Interact/Earlyact, Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE), RYLA/Young RYLA/RYLA+, Rotaract, or any other sponsor event that involves youth or at-risk adults. IF CHECKED, SKIP TO SECTION 5. SIDE NOTE: (Even Exempt Clubs must review D5450 & RI Youth & At-Risk Policy with members of their clubs and confirm attendance - make-up will need to review the policy independently. No further action is needed unless your club begins working with these populations, at which point you must immediately contact Youth Protection Officer.ACTIVE: Our club WILL have contact with "Protected Individuals" (Youth or At-Risk Adults) for the current year through its programs or event. IF CHECKED, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALLL SECTIONS BELOW.

We will conduct all programs in strict accordance with RI and District 5450 policies.Our Club has formally adopted the District 5450 Youth & At-Risk Protection Policy (or a club-level policy that aligns with it.Our club is committed to completing all additional requirement outlined on the Club Eligibility Requirement Flowchart and based on our level of involvement of Frequent (regular/repeated or significant)or Infrequent (incidental, or one-off and insignificant) contact with protected individuals.
