Shake the Stage Spring Performing Arts Camp
Ages 9–13
Join the African-American Shakespeare Company’s Shake the Stage program for a fun and creative 3-day Spring Performing Arts Camp designed for young performers! Campers will explore dance, puppetry, acting, and musical theater while building confidence, creativity, and stage skills.
Each day introduces a different performing arts discipline led by professional teaching artists, giving students the opportunity to move, build, perform, and collaborate in a supportive and engaging environment.

$30 per student
Registration includes:
• All 3 days of camp
• All materials and supplies
• Daily snack for each camper
Daily Schedule
Tuesday – Thursday
• 9:30 AM – Camper Drop Off
• 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Camp Classes
• 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM – Pickup & Lunch
Important:
All campers must be picked up no later than 1:00 PM. No exceptions.
Daily Camp Activities
Tuesday – Theatrical Hip-Hop
Hard Knock Life from Annie the Musical
Campers will learn a fun hip-hop and musical theater fusion routine inspired by “Hard Knock Life” from Annie with Mr. Gary, exploring rhythm, character movement, and storytelling through dance.
Wednesday – Puppet Building & Shakespeare Storytelling
Campers will design and build their own mythical creature puppet while exploring the magical world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Teaching artists Mr. Ramon and Ms. Jenell will guide students through puppet construction, character creation, and imaginative storytelling.
Thursday – Musical Theater: Schoolhouse Rock Live
Campers will get a preview of our Summer Shake the Stage production of Schoolhouse Rock Jr. in this exciting musical theater experience led by Summer Camp Director James Mercer II and Choreographer Dallas Thomas.
