  • Instructions & Information for Parade Participants:

    Entries:
    The Madison County Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to refuse any
    entries for the parade that do not align with our mission and values.

    Where does the parade start and what is the parade route?
    The parade start time will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The staging area will be the Winterset High School student parking lot on Husky Drive between 4th Ave and 8th Ave. The parade will travel north on 8th Ave, east on Court/Washington and end at Martin Marietta Ball Fields on East Court Avenue.

    What time should I arrive and where should I be?
    One week prior to the parade, the contact person listed in this application will be emailed instructions on where to park in the staging area, which is the Winterset High School student parking lot. Staging will begin at 1:45pm. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE FOR STAGING BEFORE 1:45pm.

    How much does it cost to enter the parade?
    No charge! Entering the parade is free, and a great way to promote your club,
    church, organization, or business!

    Can we hand out candy?
    Because little ones along the parade route get very excited about candy coming
    their way, we request NO THROWING of candy or other items from floats or vehicles. Parade participants may certainly walk along and toss candy or hand out other items along the route. 

    Will restroom facilities be available while lining up?
    We will have a portable unit at the staging area at Winterset High School.

     

    I have read the instructions and by submitting this application signify that I agree to the rules. Participant agrees that it will protect, defend, hold harmless and indemnify the Chamber, Committee and City of Winterset, their directors, officers, agents, employees and volunteers from and against any and all expenses, claims, actions, liabilities, damages and losses of any kind resulting from participation in the parade, regardless of the cause of such loss or damage.
