  • COVID-19 AGREEMENT

    Parent/Guardian Consent
  • The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend taking great care to minimize the risk of person-to-person contraction.

Trinity Church Camp has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, the Camp cannot guarantee that guests will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending the Camp could increase guest's risk of contracting COVID-19.

By signing this agreement, I, the undersigned parent/legal guardian of {nameOf}, acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending the Camp and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Camp may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Camp employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at the Camp or participation in Camp programming (“Claims”). On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless the Camp, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the Camp, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Camp program.

I understand that my child’s participation in Trinity Church Camp program is fully voluntary, that Trinity Episcopal Church does not warrant or represent the safety of me or my child by its hosting of the Summer Camp Program or by using safety protocols, and that I am not relying on the Camp's use of protocols to ensure safety of myself or my child. I, FOR MYSELF AND MY CHILD, ASSUME ALL RISK FROM SUCH EXPOSURE OR INFECTION, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS,
PERMANENT DISABILITY, MEDICAL COSTS, AND DEATH.

  • EXPECTATIONS

    • Trinity Camp is a week of close communal living at the Santa Monica YMCA Camp Big Bear, in Big Bear Lake, C.A. Behavior and clothing should be appropriate for age and assignment.
    • Camper and counselors are expected to comply with the rules and regulations of Trinity Church, the Santa Monica YMCA Camp Big Bear, and the laws of the State of California. It is, therefore, inappropriate for anyone to possess or use illegal substances or intoxicating substances. The possession or use of illegal substances or intoxicating substances is a “down the hill” offense (person committing a violation will be sent home)
    • Tobacco and/or e-cigarettes are not permitted on the YMCA campground. Campers are not permitted to possess or use tobacco and/or e-cigarettes while at camp.
    • Sexual harassment and inappropriate sexual behavior (suggestive comments, touching, etc are also “down the hill” offenses.
    • All medications (including vitamins) must be given to the Camp Nurse, who will administer it according to the prescription or, in the case of non-prescription drugs, as needed. All medication should be the original medication bottle, and clearly marked with the name of the camper. Any special instructions need to be discussed with the nurse.
    • No gum chewing, please. Do not bring food or candy to camp. Supplementary dietary food is allowed with prior permission from the nurse, to whom it will be handed at check-in time.
    • Campers are expected to participate in all scheduled activities, which are consistent throughout each day.
    • There are three worship services each day at Camp. Attendance at daily Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer is optional. Campers are expected to attend the daily Holy Eucharist. It is not necessary for campers to receive the bread and wine at Communion to enjoy and benefit from this corporate act of worship.
    • No sandals, with exception of walking to and from bathrooms and pool area – Shoes and socks must be worn when it is appropriate to have something on your feet.
    • All cell phones must be kept in the cabin and not used unless the Senior Counselor gives permission. We highly encourage campers to not bring cell phones to camp.
    • All campers and counselors observe “rest hour.” No exceptions.
    • No camper or Junior Counselor may drive off camp grounds without the express consent of the Camp Director. Cars are off limits to campers and Junior Counselors.

    • Parent or legal guardian must deliver and check in campers to campground at the opening of camp at a pre-arranged time, and pick up campers at the pre-arranged time at the conclusion of camp.
    • Late arrival must be arranged in advance.  Late arrival without consent may result in forfeiture of admittance to camp.
    • Failure to pick up your camper in a timely manner at the conclusion of camp may result in law enforcement taking temporary guardianship of your camper, and may result in legal charges per the County of San Bernadino and the State of California.

Special regulations will be in place to minimize risk of exposure and spreading of COVID-19. Please read this carefully, and understand the extreme impact of failure to adhere to these practices:

    • Depending on health conditions at the time of camp, regulations may include wearing of acceptable masks that cover the mouth and nose, distancing from others, hand-washing and sanitizing, and other healthy habits.  If a camper cannot follow these regulations, they will be required to leave camp WITHOUT REFUND in order to benefit the safety of all campers and staff.

    • If a camper shows symptoms and a fever of 99.8 or higher, they and their cohort members may be quarantined, and the camper with symptoms may be tested for COVID-19.
      • If any camper tests positive for COVID-19, they will be required to leave camp for the remainder of the event.
      • Campers will be eligible to recieve reimbursement for the period of the event that was missed.
