About Sisters of Sobriety
Sisters of Sobriety (SOS) is a MARR-certified recovery residence for women located in Big Rapids, Michigan. Since opening in 2017, SOS has supported hundreds of women rebuilding their lives in recovery through a structured, peer-supported living environment focused on personal growth, accountability, and community.
Sisters of Sobriety values both professional expertise and lived experience in recovery as powerful assets in guiding our mission and leadership.
In 2026, Sisters of Sobriety expanded its mission with the launch of two new initiatives:
SOS Educational Scholarship Program – Through the generosity of a private foundation, Sisters of Sobriety now offers a four-year, debt-free educational scholarship. One eligible SOS resident or alumni will be selected each year for ten years to pursue college or vocational training, helping remove financial barriers and opening the door to long-term success.
SOS Community Outreach Recovery Success Program – Launched March 1, 2026, this outreach initiative expands SOS support beyond the residence by offering peer recovery support, guidance, and connection to individuals in the broader community seeking recovery resources.
Sisters of Sobriety is entering a season of meaningful growth, expanding educational opportunity and community-based recovery support for women rebuilding their lives.
As SOS continues to grow, we are seeking dedicated volunteer professional board members who believe in recovery, community, and empowering women to rebuild their lives.
"We welcome applicants who are passionate about recovery, community impact, and strengthening nonprofit leadership."
Board meetings are currently held via Zoom.
