Topic: Let's Talk PrEP!
Description: This webinar is the third in a series to be hosted by the SAACP in colaboration with the Medicines Information Centre.
In this session we'll unpack the practical aspects of PrEP - who should receive it, when to start, and how to use it. We'll also take a closer look at Lenacapavir. The webinar will cover common adverse effects, and address common concerns such as to start, and stop PrEP, how to transition patients from PEP to PrEP, and whether you should be worried about resistance.
The presenter is Ms Anri Uys (B.Pharm (NWU) MSc. Pharmacology (NWU), a drug information pharmacist at the Medicine Information Centre (MIC). She has worked at the MIC for the past 13 years and provides evidence-based medicines information and clinical support to healthcare professionals, with particular focus on HIV and TB. Her work includes answering the queries but also developming educational material based on guidelines. Anri is passionate about translating complex medical information into practical guidance that improves patient care.
