    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Part‑Time
    Location: Linda’s House Pediatric Daycare & Preschool, Putnam, CT
    Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00am–12:30pm
    Rate: $22-26/hr, paid holidays

    About the Role
    We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our early childhood centers and support the health and well‑being of the children and staff in our care. This part‑time position is ideal for an LPN who enjoys working with young children, values collaboration, and wants a consistent daytime schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

    The LPN provides health oversight, ensures medical compliance, administers medications, and partners closely with families, staff, and our health consultant.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Health Records & Family Communication
      • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records for children and staff.
      • Communicate with families and staff regarding required health documentation.
      • Review new enrollment health paperwork and follow up with families as needed.
      • Ensure compliance with CT OEC vaccine requirements, including annual flu vaccines.
    • Medication Management & Direct Care
      • Maintain medication inventory and verify required authorizations.
      • Ensure medications are properly labeled and not expired.
      • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by a physician.
    • Health Policies & Illness Management
      • Uphold and enforce the center’s sick policy throughout the day.
      • Notify families when a child becomes ill.
      • Collaborate with the director and health consultant on policy updates.
    • Care Planning & Team Collaboration
      • Assist in developing individualized health care plans when needed.
      • Report health concerns to the health consultant and work closely as a team.
    • Health Education & Supplies
      • Provide health education to staff during professional development days.
      • Maintain adequate first aid and health supply inventory.
    • Additional Duties
      • Monitor incident and illness reports.
      • Review developmental milestones and make recommendations when appropriate.

    Qualifications

    Current Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
    Pass DCF and Background check prior to employment starting
    First Aid and CPR certified
    Experience in pediatric, school, or early childhood settings preferred.
    Strong communication and organizational skills.
    Ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and the health consultant.
