  • Please fill out the information below to submit a workshop proposal for the 2027 National Sex Ed Conference, taking place in February 2027 in Washington, DC. If you have any questions or need support in filling out the form, please contact register@sexedconference.com.

    We are seeking engaging, activity-facilitated presentations that focus on meeting the moment in sex education right now, including areas of inclusion, pedagogy, sustainability, program development, research, linguistic diversity, accessibility and disability justice, curriculum development, advocacy, intersectionality, etc.

    At the National Sex Ed Conference, we are committed to advancing equity and representation in the field of sexuality education.

    Proposals may fall into one of three categories:

    • 1-hour concurrent workshop presentation
    • 1.5-hour concurrent workshop presentation
    • 1-hour lunchtime facilitated discussions

    1-hour concurrent workshop presentations

    These workshops are best suited for introductory or overview topics, focused learning objectives, or concise-skill building. A workshop’s acceptance into our program will come with 1 complimentary conference registration and one $200 stipend. Up to 1 additional presenter will receive $100 off registration.

    1.5-hour concurrent workshop presentations

    These workshops are best suited for deeper skill-building, interactivity, or complex topics that require nuance and participant engagement. A workshop’s acceptance into our program will come with 1 complimentary conference registration and one $300 stipend. Up to 1 additional presenter will receive $100 off registration.

    1-hour lunchtime-facilitated discussions

    These sessions are interactive, participant-driven discussions designed to foster dialogue, discuss research, or shared problem-solving around a focused topic. A lunchtime facilitated discussion’s acceptance into our program will come with $100 off registration fees for up to 2 presenters.

    Please note: While presenters may indicate a preferred session length or format, preferences are not guaranteed and are used to help reviewers better understand the intended scope and facilitation approach of the proposal. Final session placement decisions are made by the review committee based on programmatic needs, schedule balance, reviewer recommendations, and overall conference design.

    Please walk us through the process you will use to achieve the stated learning objective. Include step-by step procedures, and specific pedagogical techniques (lecturette, paired discussion, sentence stems, fact sheet review, kinesthetic activities, games, etc.), and clearly address how the learning objective will be met.

  • NCHEC & AASECT Requirements

  • As CHES® and AASECT CEU providers, we are required to collect the following information about your presentation's competencies.

    The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc, has established seven comprehensive, key competencies that define the role of the health education specialist.

    AASECT recently updated the Core Knowledge Areas (CKA) required for certification and certification renewal of all Sexuality Educators, Sexuality Counselors and Sex Therapists. All candidates for certification must have knowledge of the following as they relate to sexual health and pleasure.

  • Terms and Conditions for Workshop Proposal Submission:

    1. If my proposal is accepted, I commit to presenting my workshop February 2027 at the National Sex Ed Conference in Washington, DC.

    2. If my 1 hour concurrent workshop proposal is accepted, I am entitled to receiving 1 complimentary conference registration, and up to 1 additional presenter receiving $100 off registration. I am also entitled to one $200.00 stipend invoiced to The Center for Sex Education at Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own travel and lodging expenses.

    3. If my 1.5 hour concurrent workshop proposal is accepted, I am entitled to receiving 1 complimentary conference registration, and up to 1 additional presenter receiving $100 off registration. I am also entitled to one $300.00 stipend invoiced to The Center for Sex Education at Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own travel and lodging expenses.

    4. If my lunchtime faciliated discussion proposal is accepted, I am entitled to receiving $100 off conference registration, and up to one additional presenter receiving the same discount. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own travel and lodging expenses.

    5. I understand that my workshop may be scheduled at any time during the conference.

    6. I affirm that I have no actual or potential conflict of interest in relation to this conference, including but not limited to, affiliations, investments, or financial interests in organizations that may have a stake in the content of my presentation.

    7. I certify that I am 18 years of age or older.

    8. If accepted, the content of my actual presentation will faithfully reflect the submitted proposal. I understand that any significant deviation from the proposed material without prior approval from the conference organizers may lead to the rejection of my proposal, revocation of my acceptance, or dismissal from the current or future conference activities.

    9. I agree to provide all materials for the workshop, including handouts and other educational resources two weeks ahead of the conference and to adhere to any guidelines provided by the conference organizers.

    10. I agree to abide by the conference’s Code of Conduct, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment for all participants.

    11. I understand that any attempt to disrupt the conference or engage in behavior that is contrary to the objectives of the event, including but not limited to any form of harassment, discrimination, or promotion of harmful or illegal activities, will result in immediate removal from the conference and potential legal action.

    By submitting my proposal, I agree to these terms and conditions and understand that my participation in the 2027 National Sex Ed Conference is contingent upon my adherence to them.
