Vice President of Communications
The Vice President of Communications leads the Alumni Association's communications, marketing, branding, and social media efforts. This role supports alumni engagement by developing and managing communication strategies, promoting initiatives, and maintaining consistent, professional communication with alumni and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Creates and manages communication strategies to promote Alumni Association events, initiatives, achievements, and opportunities.
- Manages the Alumni Association's social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and any future approved platforms, ensuring regular and consistent engagement.
- Creates graphics, promotional materials, and digital content using Canva and other approved tools.
- Supports the creation and distribution of quarterly newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials through Mailchimp and other approved platforms.
- Works collaboratively with Executive members to share alumni stories, achievements, events, opportunities, and Association initiatives.
- Coordinates with the Vice President of Recruitment on communications related to membership recruitment, member engagement, and the promotion of Executive vacancies or volunteer opportunities.
- Maintains a communications content calendar and coordinates communication schedules with the President, Vice President, Executive, and JA South Western Ontario as needed.
- Tracks social media and communication engagement metrics and recommends strategies to increase alumni awareness, participation, and involvement.
- Ensures all communications align with JA South Western Ontario branding guidelines, organizational values, and approved messaging.
