Established in 2026 and sponsored by Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated in partnership with The Ivy Heritage Foundation Incorporated through faith-based fundraising efforts grounded in Christian ministry, the Faith In Action Scholarship for Women in Ministry exists to support women pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in religion, theology, ministry, or related fields, as a major or minor. This scholarship affirms women who demonstrate academic excellence, spiritual discernment, and a clear commitment to serving others through faith-informed leadership. The award reflects a belief that ministry is both a calling and a responsibility—one that requires preparation, discipline, and courage.
Applicant must be:
- Demonstrate involvement in Christian ministry, church leadership, or faith-based community service
- A resident of Richland County or Lexington County, SC
- Female
- Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a regionally accredited institution of higher education or
- A graduating high school student accepted into a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Academic transcript (official or unofficial) verifying GPA
- Two letters of recommendation from an academic advisor, ministry leader, or community mentor on letterhead, excluding relatives
- Field of Study (Major or Minor)
