Fund Purpose and Eligibility

Ipson Holocaust Education Fund

Purpose: To support Holocaust education.

Eligibility: Proposals will be accepted from 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving residents of greater Richmond.

Size of Awards: Generally, grants will range from $2,000 - $4,800.

Henry and Gertrude Kupfer Holocaust Education Fund

Purpose: To support Holocaust education.

Eligibility: Proposals will be accepted from 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving residents of greater Richmond.

Size of Awards: Generally, grants will range from $1,000 - $1,800.

Alexander Lebenstein Fund for Tolerance and Human Rights

Purpose: To support special opportunities that enhance the practice of tolerance, appreciation for diversity and embrace human rights. Grants will be available to support the following: for purchase of resources such as books or classrooms or workshops; for fees of speakers discussing in a charitable, educational or religious setting, tolerance, human rights and/or diversity; or, for such other programs, services or activities as may be in furtherance of the fund's purpose.

Eligibility: Proposals will be accepted from 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving residents of greater Richmond.

Size of Awards: One grant of $918 is available.

Brenda Zimm Oscar and Melvin Zimm Memorial Fund

Purpose: To support programming for Holocaust education in Richmond, VA with priority given to support direct services to local youth and educators, then to other related local activities, then which any available balance to non-local programs. if deemed appropriate.

Eligibility: Proposals will be accepted from 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving residents of greater Richmond.

Size of Awards: Generally, grants range from $1,000 - $1,700.

Herbert J and Ruth B. Rubel Holocaust Education Fund

Purpose: To support programming for Holocaust education, with priority given to support direct services to youth and educators located in central Virginia.

Eligibility: Proposals will be accepted from 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving residents of greater Richmond.

Size of Awards: Generally, grants range from $1,500 - $3,500.

Guidelines

There is a common application process for all nonprofits that wish to request program or operating support from Richmond Jewish Foundation funds:

All proposals must be submitted to Richmond Jewish Foundation. Based on the nature of the request, funding criteria and restrictions of each fund, the Richmond Jewish Foundation Grants Committee will determine which fund(s) will consider the organization's proposal. These factors, along with the amount requested, availability of grant funds and funding priorities, will be considered.
