505 Swimming Learn to Swim Scholarship Application
  • 505 Swimming Learn to Swim Scholarship Application

  • The 505 Swimming Scholarship Program was established in 2026 to further our commitment to ensuring all children in New Mexico learn to swim! The program is open to New Mexico residents in areas in which we operate (Albuquerque, Bloomfield/Farmington, and Santa Fe) who demonstrate financial need. Financial need must be verified as part of your application and is defined based on household income and size as follows:

Family of 3: $55,000 or below
Family of 4: $60,000 or below
Family of 5+: $65,000 or below

Scholarships are intended to support families who may not otherwise be able to access swim lessons, if your family's income is higher than the thresholds marked above, we still encourage you to apply as you may be awarded a 50% scholarship for classes depending on total number of applicants and available funding.

This program is funded through partners who believe every child should have the opportunity to learn water safety and swimming skills. Because scholarship spots are limited and supported by donors, families should only apply if they are confident their child can attend all scheduled lessons during the session. We encourage you to apply now with a complete application, the number of scholarships available per location is limited per quarter!

  • Any documents submitted as part of your scholarship application will be kept secure and used solely for the purpose of verifying eligibility for our Scholarship Program. Access to these documents is limited to the program director and our grant sponsors strictly for verification of eligibility.

If you submit documents that contain sensitive information (such as a Social Security number), you can redact, blur, or remove that information before uploading, as long as the parent or guardian’s name remains visible on the document so we can verify the application.

  • Application Questions

Last page! Because the number of scholarships available each session is limited, we carefully review each application to determine which families are the best fit for the program. Answering all of the questions in this application helps us understand your child(ren)’s needs, your family’s availability, and your ability to participate fully in the lessons.
  • Students awarded a 505 Swimming Scholarship are expected to attend every scheduled lesson during the session. If illness or emergency prevents attendance, we will work with families to schedule a makeup when possible.

  • To help ensure scholarship spots are used by families who can attend consistently, selected scholarship recipients may be asked to pay a small refundable registration deposit before lessons begin. This deposit will be fully refunded after the session if the student attends all scheduled lessons.

  • To help our sponsors confirm the impact of the scholarship program, families must provide a photo of the participating student once lessons begin.

This photo is only used to confirm there is a face behind the name participating in the program. It does not have to be shared on social media unless you separately give permission.
