KITCHEN USAGE RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Kosher and Food Regulations:
A. All events on the CONF campus must be catered by an AKC-approved caterer and overseen by an AKC-certified Mashgiach (to be hired by the caterer).
B. All ingredients brought into the shul must be approved before being used in the kitchen or served at an event. This includes edible décor items, even if they are just for show.
C. All items brought in for food preparation must adhere to the following Kashrus standards: Pas Yisroel, Bishul Yisroel, Chalav Yisroel, and Mevushal.
* All cooked items must be Bishul Yisroel
* All baked items must be Pas Yisroel
* All dairy items must be Cholov Yisroel
* All wine must be Mevushal
* All meat must be approved with one of the Shul Rabbis before purchase
D. Each item must be unopened and in its original wrapping until it has been checked by the Mashgiach or one of the Shul Rabbis.
2. Caterer Responsibilities and Obligations
A. Caterer must provide all staff, including: set-up staff, clean-up staff, Mashgiach, bartenders, etc.
B. Caterer must inform CONF of the Mashgiach at least one week before the event. The kitchen will only be unlocked upon the arrival of the Mashgiach.
C. Caterer is responsible for providing all food and beverages for the event.
D. Caterer is responsible for the clean-up of rented rooms and the kitchen, including all dishwashing. Please finalize the desired room setup with your client at least 2 weeks before your event; all room set-up diagrams must be turned in at that time, so we can ensure that all tables and chairs are available.
E. Caterer is responsible for renting dishes for the client.
F. Any platters, pitchers, serving platters, etc. that belong to CONF cannot be used without prior consent and:
a. Documenting a list of items to be used
b. Signing the document and obtaining a signature of a CONF staff member.
