12-Month Artist Residency
The Mobile Arts Council and Spring Hill College are pleased to offer a 12-month Artist Residency Program located in the Murphy Fine Arts Building on the campus of Spring Hill College. This residency supports artists by providing dedicated studio space, opportunities for community engagement, and professional promotion. The selected artist will have 24-hour access to a private studio space and the opportunity to create a body of work during their residency that will culminate in a one-month exhibition in the professional gallery space located below the studio. They will be required to lead at least two workshops within the time of their residency. The artist will be paid for these workshops. Mobile Arts Council will promote the artist and their residency through its website, social media platforms, press releases, and local media opportunities, including live news interviews.
Residency Details
Location: Murphy Fine Arts building, 2nd floor private studio. Length of Residency: 12 months. Studio Fee: $250 per month. Studio space approximately 20'.5" x 22'.5". The residency will begin no later than October 1, 2026, after a committee deliberates and reviews each application.
