Forkin' Around in Riversdale — August 29, 2026
Riversdale's first-ever food festival is coming, and we want you in it.
Forkin' Around in Riversdale is a one-day street festival celebrating the food, flavour, and community spirit of one of Saskatoon's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Taking place on Saturday, August 29, 2026 along Avenue D between 20th and 21st Street, the event brings together local restaurants, bars, and businesses, live music, a competitive food cook-off (done in restaurant with a portion brought to the stage for judges to taste), bathtub racing with a "Fill The Tub" food bank drive, a kids zone, and thousands of hungry, curious attendees ready to explore the district.
What's happening on the day: Live music on the main stage, a tomato-themed Food Cook-Off with people's choice and judges' awards, bathtub racing down Avenue D where sponsors and teams compete in races of 2 until we have a winner, kids programming, a dog rescue activation, a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs screening at the Roxy Theatre, and the "Fill the Tub" Food drive.
The bathtub racing is inlcuded for the highest tier of sponsorship, or can be purchased for $100 for a team of 2-4. Logos will be displayed on the side of the tub during their competition leg. will be posted to the Riversdale website. social media, and get to plug their business at the event to all the attendees.
The Food Tour Passport: Throughout the entire month of August, a neighbourhood-wide Food Tour Passport program will drive foot traffic to participating restaurants before and after event day. Patrons collect digital stamps at participating locations and enter draws for prizes — keeping your venue top of mind all month long, not just August 29.
Who should apply: This application is for food and beverage businesses in the Riversdale district who want to participate in the Food Tour Passport program, be featured on the interactive digital map and flavour routes, offer a day-of special, and/or enter the Food Cook-Off. Participation is free for district F&B vendors. This is also for all businesses who wish to donate item(s) to the giveaways, or sponsor the event either by cash or in kind.

Inclusion of curated Flavour Routes
A Food Tour Passport stamp location for the month of August in RBID
Promotion through Riversdale BID social media channels and event marketing
