Money decisions shouldn’t feel like a second job - but for many of us, they do. Between career demands, family responsibilities, and a constant stream of headlines, it’s easy to put investing off…and then suddenly feel like you’re “late.”
The SFA Women in FinTech Subommittee is hosting a practical, no-jargon session to help you reset your personal finance approach and build momentum with small, sustainable steps.
This session is built around everyday objectives many professionals relate to:
- stopping the “money guilt” spiral
- building a buffer so one surprise bill doesn’t derail your plans
- starting an investing habit without obsessing over timing
- knowing how to invest in a way that still lets you sleep at night when markets get noisy
We’ll also discuss why women often invest later or invest less - driven by structural and behavioural headwinds like career breaks, wage gaps, caregiving responsibilities, risk perception, and confidence barriers - and how to close that gap with simple systems and better defaults.
Charu Chanana, Chief Investment Strategist at Saxo, will present a 30-minute personal finance playbook focused on what matters most: how to set goals that fit real life, how to balance cash savings and investing, how to build a simple diversified plan, how to keep fees from quietly eating returns, and how to stay steady through market ups and downs.
This will be followed by a panel with leaders from Arta Finance, Endowus, and StashAway to make it practical - how people actually get started in Singapore, what trade-offs to consider when choosing different approaches, what costs to watch, and how to stay consistent when life gets busy.
