Welcome back, parade participants!

We are excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the longest-standing parade tradition in the State of Delaware. This special event, recognized as the City of Wilmington’s celebratory initiative that helps kick off Hispanic Heritage Month, continues to honor the rich culture, history, and contributions of Delaware’s Hispanic community.

We are proud to once again gather in celebration of the vibrancy, unity, and legacy of our community for this milestone year.

Important Notice for Elected Officials, PACs, and Political Candidates

Nuestras Raíces Inc. is a nonprofit organization and does not endorse or show preference for any political party, candidate, or campaign. In light of the current climate and the issues impacting Hispanic communities, we want to be especially clear about our participation policies for elected officials, political action committees, and individuals seeking public office.

Candidates for office are not authorized to walk in the parade unless they are formally registered and approved through the appropriate process. This year, no candidate will be permitted to participate without prior authorization.

PAC groups may be considered for participation only after direct communication with the event organizer. Interested groups must contact (302) 528-4024 before registering or appearing in the parade. Approval is not automatic.

Approved PAC groups are not permitted to include individuals who are currently running for office as part of their group participation unless that candidate has independently registered as an approved partner or sponsor of this year’s event. Sponsorship information may be provided after the interested candidate speaks directly with an organizer, and a sponsor packet can be shared at that time.

Campaign shirts, campaign signage, or campaign-related materials are not permitted along the parade route unless the individual or group has been formally approved as a partner or sponsor for this year’s event.

Any unauthorized campaign presence, candidate participation, signage, or materials observed during the event may result in post-event invoicing and/or restriction from future participation.

There is an entry fee for certain participant categories, payable to parade officials. By submitting this form, you agree to attend the parade and to pay the fee associated with the category you selected.

You further agree to release Nuestras Raíces Inc. from liability for any injury, whether real or perceived, arising from participation in the event. Nuestras Raíces Inc. is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, assets, or personal belongings during the event.

All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times. Threatening, insulting, abusive, vulgar, or inappropriate behavior, whether physical or verbal, toward other groups, attendees, staff, or patrons will not be tolerated.

We welcome advocacy and awareness-based participation that aligns with the spirit of community, culture, and education. However, this event is not authorized to serve as a protest parade. Demonstrations, protest activity, or messaging presented in a manner that violates parade guidelines, liability standards, insurance requirements, or standards of good taste may result in denial or cancellation of participation. Nuestras Raíces Inc. reserves the right to reject any group, display, signage, or messaging deemed inappropriate, offensive, vulgar, or inconsistent with the purpose of the event.

No weapons of any kind are permitted.

Nuestras Raíces Inc. reserves the right to deny, revoke, or cancel any registration at any time.

This is a rain-or-shine event. No refunds will be issued, including in cases of inclement weather, cancellation, or state of emergency. However, if the event is canceled due to a declared state of emergency or significant safety concern, registered participants will be granted free entry for the following year.
