    Johnson County Old Settlers
    2026 Parade Rules and Regulations

    The order of participation is determined solely by the Parade Committee and is determined by specific criteria (i.e. type, size and length of each entry).
    All parade entries must have a number, issued by the Parade Committee to participate in the parade.


    Non-participating vehicles WILL NOT be allowed in the assembly area after 8AM
    No participating entry is allowed to change their number or their position in the parade, unless it has been approved by the Parade Committee prior to the parade.
    No entry will be allowed to SLOW OR STOP the forward motion of the parade. 
    The parade judges are NOT on the reviewing stand.


    There will be NO THROWING OR TOSSING of anything during the parade. All handouts must be handed directly to the crowd along the parade route. All handouts must be pre-approved prior to the day of the parade. NO GUM is allowed.
    Smoking will not be allowed in the assembly area or on the parade route.
    Operators of vehicles must have a valid drivers license and must always stay with the vehicle during assembly and prior to the parade.
    NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS OR ANY OTHER CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ARE ALLOWED.
    PROFANE, OBSCENE OR LEWD ENTRIES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.


    Insurance requirements
    All parade entries/participants will be required to have a minimum of $500,000 in Liability Insurance.


    All parade entries/participants must provide a Certificate of Insurance listing Johnson County Old Settlers Association, Inc. as a Certificate Holder.
    Johnson County Old Settlers Association, Inc. does not accept copies of insurance cards.


    If a parade participant cannot secure insurance, you must contact the Parade Committee for more information.


    Certificates of Insurance must be received before the entry will be confirmed.
    General Release/Indemnification: The signer acknowledges and agrees that they are participating in the Johnson County Old Settlers Parade at their own risk. The signer hereby acknowledges and agrees that Johnson County Old Settlers Association, Inc. is not responsible for any injury of any kind occurring to themselves or to their child(ren)/or ward on account of such participation in the Parade. The signer further agrees to hold harmless, on their own behalf and on behalf of their child(ren)/ward, Johnson County Old Settlers Association, Inc., its shareholders, directors, officers, agents and employees from and against any and all liability, expense or damage of any kind or nature, and from any suits, claims or demands, including reasonable legal fees and expenses, on account of any matter or thing related to participation in the Parade, including but not limited to that which may arise on account of the negligence of Johnson County Old Settlers Association, Inc., other participants, its suppliers, agents, employers, contractors, drivers or installers.
