COMMUNITY MANAGER APPLICATION
Black Film Space is seeking a part-time Community Manager to help grow and support our filmmaker membership community.
This role focuses on outreach to filmmakers, engagement within our membership portal, and assisting with community programming. The Community Manager will play an important role in introducing filmmakers to Black Film Space while helping maintain an active, welcoming environment for our members.
The person in this role will also serve as a visible representative of the Black Film Space community—engaging with filmmakers online, welcoming new members, and help build meaningful connections within the network.
The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, supporting creative communities, and helping filmmakers discover opportunities and resources that can support their careers.
In addition to outreach and engagement, the Community Manager will help with member programming, including organizing and hosting virtual member-only events and assisting with welcoming new members through virtual orientation sessions.
The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable communicating online, familiar with social media platforms, and able to create simple visual content using tools like Canva.
Over time, the Community Manager may also assist with compiling and sharing resources for filmmakers, such as job opportunities, grants, and industry listicles that are shared with the community and across Black Film Space platforms.
Role Details:
• Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week (about 2 hours per day)
• Compensation: Bi-weekly stipend
• Contract Length: April – December 2026 (with potential for renewal)
• Location: United States (Remote)
