Values & Expectations: The Family Music Time environment is intended to be a welcoming space to all children, inclusive of the various ways that they may be comfortable and able to participate, or not participate. We welcome families to speak privately to the facilitator or contact SIMT Executive Director directly with any concerns.

Location: Kirtland Community Center 7900 Euclid Chardon Rd Kirtland, OH 44094  The large empty room we use has low carpeted flooring, and is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. There are folding chairs available, if needed. Not sure which room? Ask the front desk or listen for the music. We are typically the only group in the center at this time. The front doors will be open for 15min before and after class, and there should be a staff member at the front desk.

Notifications: Any important last-minute changes or information regarding classes will be given via the private Facebook group "Family Music Time with Sound Inspirations" and/or may be sent by email to the adult contact(s) listed. Instrument/materials Kits: Listed after the class dates under "Purchase Options" section. Positive benefits of purchasing a kit for a child may include but are not limited to:

• empowerment to participate on the child's terms and timing during classes
• reduced risk of exchanging germs with other children
• a transition tool for the child regarding returning to future classes
• fostering creative expression during class and extending this to home
• a sense of motivation and self-confidence through ownership

We have thoughtfully sourced each item and arranged the collection of items as a whole kit to provide durable, washable, non-toxic, and versatile age-appropriate instruments and movement props, that were primarily purchased from other small businesses in Ohio. The purchase of a kit is not required for participation in class as the facilitator will bring a collection of comparable instruments and props for families to borrow if they do not have their own kit. 

Family Yoga Classes are taught by Kate Martin, Certified Children's Yoga Instructor of Little Frogs and Downward Dogs Yoga. These classes will introduce the benefits of yoga in a family style/mommy & me class format with a fair amount of movement for the children (baby-wearing is a good option for infants). We will learn a breathing technique, practice age appropriate meditation skills, engage in a mindfulness activity and learn a few asanas (yoga movement postures) in a fun way! Overall, classes will be comprised of movement; song & dance; age appropriate mindfulness activities; an introduction to the benefits of meditation and breathing exercises; AND tons of fun!! Please bring water to drink and a mat (there will be a few to borrow if you don't have one).

REGISTRATION: Select the classes your family will attend

Pay to secure your spot in multiple classes in one transaction, or just one class at a time. To reserve your spot on a variety of different class dates, you may return to register (re-submit this form) multiple times, or 'save' the mostly completed form and return to complete the payment portion later. Classes will be marked as "sold out" and unavailable to purchase when they reach the 10-family limit. If a "full summer" or "per month" option appears sold out, please double-check the individual classes listed as there may actually still be room to sign up for one or more of the classes in those ranges. In general, all sales are final as a commitment to attending our classes.

Please enroll before the class start time, as much as possible. Last-minute drop-ins or late arriving families are welcome to enroll the same day as the class. The ability to register will remain open for each class until it is has reached full capacity. Notifying us of upcoming absences helps us make use of waitlists for sold out class dates.  We reserve the right to cancel any class if a minimum enrollment is not met 24hrs prior to the start time.
