Nominations can come from peers, but the packet must include a letter of support from at least one scientist who has been supported, taught, mentored, and/or trained by the nominee. 3. Required: 1. The doctoral degree should have been granted since January 1st of the calendar year 3 years or less prior to the award year. 2. At least one letter of nomination by a current AAAR member. 3. Copy of the dissertation abstract. 4. At least two but no more than five supporting letters that include reasons for nominating the individual, a critical review stating the value of the dissertation in terms of its originality, significance and potential applications in the field of aerosol science and technology (need not be from AAAR members; cannot be from a member of the Awards Committee). Required: The award is based strictly on achievement in the field of inhalable materials and medicinal aerosols. No other qualifications are required of the recipient. 1. At least one letter of nomination must be submitted by a current AAAR or ISAM member. The letters must state the particular reasons for nominating the individual. 2. At least two but no more than five supporting letters (need not be from AAAR or ISAM members). Nomination letters should be limited to three pages and supporting letters should be limited to two pages. 3. Nominee's curriculum vitae. The curriculum vitae should include a list of published work. Required: 1. Nominee must have earned his/her highest degree since January 1st of the calendar year 10 years or less prior to the award year. Additional time allowances due to career breaks (e.g., due to dependent care, illness, military service, etc.) are permitted. 2. At least one letter of nomination must be submitted by a current AAAR member. The letters must state the particular reasons for nominating the individual, including the eligibility of the nominee as an early career stage investigator. 3. At least two but no more than five additional supporting letters (need not be from AAAR members; cannot be from a member of the Awards Committee). Nomination letters should be limited to three pages and supporting letters should be limited to two pages. 4. Nominee's curriculum vitae. The AS&T Outstanding Publication Award is presented annually to a paper published in Aerosol Science and Technology (AS&T), regardless of publication date. The award recognizes publications that have made a significant and lasting impact on the field of aerosol science. Nominations must include the following:

A brief justification for the nomination
A citation of approximately 100 words summarizing the significance and impact of the paper. This citation should be suitable for dissemination with the award announcement.

Required: Applicants will need to upload a 1-2 page PDF file describing: (a) the goals of the ongoing or proposed research; (b) how this instrument will help advance this research; and (c) the availability of funding for purchasing instruments. One instrument will be awarded each year to a AAAR member as a gift from Juan Fernandez de la Mora, and the license to operate it is a gift from the NanoEngineering Corporation (NEC).
