The Opening Eyes screening will be appointment-only this year. Due to limited volunteer availability and our commitment to providing the highest quality experience for our Special Olympics Colorado athletes, we will not be able to accommodate walk-in appointments.
Each appointment will last approximately 30–40 minutes, with two athletes scheduled per time slot. Appointments will be available every 15 minutes during the following times:
• 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM (last appointment begins at 11:15 AM)
• 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (last appointment begins at 5:00 PM)
Coaches: If you are scheduling multiple athletes, these appointment blocks are designed to help athletes from the same delegation complete their screenings together.
Please note: Athletes who attend Opening Eyes before the official Healthy Athletes opening time of 1:00 PM will still receive credit toward their 4 of 7 screenings needed to earn the Healthy Athletes Camp T-shirt and Owala water bottle.
The Special Olympics Opening Eyes® program is a vision and eye health screening in partnership with the Lions Club International Foundation. Led by volunteer vision care professionals, Opening Eyes is able to offer prescription eyewear, sunglasses, and sports goggles to Special Olympics Colorado athletes.
