CT Georgia Alumni Group Legacy Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current graduating senior at Cass Technical High School, in good-standing
- Must have a college acceptance letter from a Georgia-based HBCU (attach it)
- Must be planning to attend the HBCU in the Fall-2026 semester
- Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Application must be accompanied by a copy of your Acceptance Letter (must be attached to the application)
- Must pay the required college or university’s fees (confirmation, enrollment or pre-orientation) fee by the HBCU’s required deadline (varies by HBCU). Proof of payment must be provided by May 15, 2026.
- Must commit to remain engaged with the CT-Georgia Alumni Group Legacy Program (minimum of one year; monthly interaction) under the Mentorship Program (must complete the Mentorship Application found on the homepage.)
Application Requirements
- a. Submit an essay answering the (4) required questions.
- In an essay of 1,000 words or less, detail your responses to the following questions:
- What do you want your legacy to be as a Cass Tech graduate?
- What do you plan to do beyond education to solidify your goal?
- Do you have any community service projects? If yes, please describe your involvement.
- How will this Legacy Scholarship support your educational and leadership path forward?
- b. Provide a headshot photo.
- c. Provide a 3-6 minute video answering the (3) required questions.
- (In 1-2 minutes or less) In order for us to get to know you better, introduce yourself and share something about yourself, not currently reflected in your application.
- (In 1-2 minutes or less) Please explain why you feel you deserve this scholarship.
- (In 1-2 minutes or less) Describe a significant challenge you overcame and how it impacted your academic pursuits.
- d. Provide a copy of your acceptance letter to the Georgia HBCU you will be attending.

2026-27 Scholarship Awards
Awardees: Two Recipients (2026-2027)
- 1st Award Distribution: Awardee #1 and Awardee #2: $1,000 per Awardee
- Fall 2026 scholarship to be utilized for verifiable costs associated with tuition, books or housing in the fall semester.
- 2nd Award Distribution: Awardee #1 and Awardee #2: $750 per Awardee
- $750 provided to the student IF an unweighted 2.75 GPA is maintained in the Fall Semester and student must maintain enrollment in the HBCU.
- Awardee(s) must remain engaged with the CT-GAG Legacy Group in order to remain eligible for the 2nd Award Distribution. This includes attending a minimum of (1) CT-GAG Legacy Group event each semester.
- 1st Award Distribution will be paid directly to the HBCU by August 1st of the award year, if both bullets above (unweighted 2.75 GPA and CT-GAG engagement) have been achieved.
- 2nd Award Distribution will be paid directly to the HBCU by January 31, 2027, provided student confirms enrollment in the semester and provides the required documents no later than January 15, 2027. Below are a list of the required documents:
- Confirm your Student ID Number
- Provide proof of your unweighted GPA (with the school information and your name on the document)
- Provide a picture of your current class schedule (with the school information and your name on the schedule)
Scholarship winners to be announced by June 1, 2026, and distributions to awardees’ university or college by August 1, 2026.
