  • Summer Camp Registration 2026

    Dear parents/guardians and junior youth, We are pleased to invite junior youth ages 11-15 to the Sylvan Lake Overnight Junior Youth Camps, where they will be enhancing their powers of expression, cultivating a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of their communities, and building a stronger moral foundation through the study of stories, arts and sports. There will be two camps based on age. Those entering grades 9 & 10 will attend from June 25-30, 2026 and those entering grades 6, 7, 8, or 9 from July 6-10, 2026
  • Camp Eligibility

    The camp will run in two cohorts (A & B). Junior youth born before 2012/12/31 or entering grades 9 & 10 in the upcoming school year will participate in a six-day camp running from June 25 at 3:00PM until 3:00 PM on June 30, 2026 as a part of Camp A. All other Junior Youth will participate in a five-day camp running from July 6 at 5:00PM until 3:00PM on July 10, 2026. Filling out the form will determine the participant's eligibility for either camp. Both camps will take place at the same facility.

  • Camp Facility/ Accommodations

    The camps will take place at the Sylvan Lake Baha'i Centre (39223 Range Rd 23, Lacombe County, AB T0M 0H0), approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away from Edmonton. Girls and boys will be accommodated with separate dorm rooms and bathroom facilities. The facility maintains a "closed-campus" policy and all meals will be provided onsite. Participants will be required to bring their own sheets, bedding/sleeping bag, pillow, towel, etc. Additional packing list items will be shared ahead of the camp.

    Since the participant's birthday is before 2012/12/31 or they are entering grades 9 or 10 we are pleased to invite them to participate in a five-day Junior Youth Camp that will begin at 3:00PM on June 25th and ending at 3:00 PM on June 30th 2026 at the Sylvan Lake Baha'i Centre. Throughout the camp, junior youth will be enhancing their powers of expression, cultivating a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of their communities, and building a stronger moral foundation through the study of stories, arts, and sports. This camp is specifically aimed at those who will soon becoming youth and attending high school in the near future.
  • Participant is eligible for Camp B

    Since the participant's birthday is after 2013/12/31 they are invited to participate in a four-day Junior Youth Camp which will begin at 5:00PM on July 6th ending at 3:00PM on July 10th 2025 at the Sylvan Lake Baha'i Centre. Throughout the camp, junior youth will be enhancing their powers of expression, cultivating a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of their communities, and building a stronger moral foundation through the study of stories, arts, and sports.

  • Behavioural Expectations

    This camp will adhere to a no phone policy. All personal electronic devices including smartphones, laptops, tablets, and smart watches will be collected at the start of each day and returned for a 1.5 hour period, before being recollected before bedtime. Contact points will for animators will be provided to parents who wish to get in touch with their child. All participants and parents will be expected to respect this policy. At the start of the camp a code of conduct and expectations will be set with participants as well as a system of addressing misconduct. All participants will be provided opportunities to improve their behaviour and follow expectations. However, in cases where issues arise that cannot be addressed adequately the junior youth will be asked to leave the camp and a parent or guardian will be expected to pick them up from the camp facility.

  • Fees

    The total cost has been heavily subsidized; however, if cost is a challenge, please consult with the organizers as there are bursaries available. The fee includes food, accommodations, transportation, camp supplies and materials. Contact: programs@terwillegarempowerment.org
