  • Kaleidoscope of Stories: Many Pieces, One Light — 2027 Exhibition Inquiry Form

Gateway Regional Arts Center (GRAC) welcomes applications for our 2027 gallery exhibition season. Please read all instructions and policies carefully. Only a limited number of proposals can be accepted due to high standards and space constraints. We encourage thoughtful, polished submissions and early application, as review is rolling and slots may fill quickly. The 2027 theme celebrates the bicentennial of the stained glass windows in GRAC’s Performance Hall, honoring the community’s diverse legacies and stories. Preference is given to artists with Kentucky ties, but select slots are reserved for outside perspectives. For more information on gallery spaces, application policies, and selection criteria, see details below.
  • Welcome to the 2027 Exhibition Inquiry Form for GRAC. The theme, 'Kaleidoscope of Stories: Many Pieces, One Light,' honors the bicentennial of our historic stained glass windows, originally commissioned in 1827. Like stained glass, our community is made of unique pieces—each with its own color, history, and voice—shining together as one light. We seek artists whose work reflects rich legacies, artisanship, storytelling, and fresh perspectives within and beyond the Gateway Region. Please review the following policies and gallery information before beginning your application.

  • Gallery Information:
    - GRAC has three galleries; one is a permanent collection.
    - Rotating exhibition spaces:
    1. Kezele Cafe Gallery — smaller collections, approx. 80 linear feet.
    2. Gillie Frye Gallery — approx. 150 linear feet.
    - Both spaces offer unique perspectives and opportunities for artists.
  • Selection & Policy Information:
    - Preference is given to artists with Kentucky ties.
    - Some slots are reserved for outside artists with compelling new perspectives.
    - Exhibits must be appropriate for diverse public audiences and should not include work that is obscene, offensive, racist, homophobic, gratuitously violent, or disruptive.
    - Most applications (about 90%) cannot be accepted due to limited space and high standards.
    - Review is rolling; early application is encouraged.
    - Do not expect a decision before August 2027; inquiries after November 2027 are welcome.
