Friend of Education Award – Recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to improving education in South Carolina through leadership and support of educators and students.
Al Nickles Award – Honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding advocacy for public education in South Carolina or exceptional service to The SCEA members.
Richard W. Riley Award – Recognizes a K-12 student who has positively impacted their school or community by promoting diversity, advocating for marginalized groups, or fostering inclusivity. Nominations require supporting documentation showcasing the student’s achievements.
Walker E. Solomon Award – Recognizes individuals, schools, or organizations that have worked to eliminate racial inequities and improve intergroup relations in education and the community. Nominees can be individuals (The SCEA members), local associations, schools, or community groups that have significantly impacted human and civil rights.
School Bell Awards – Acknowledges media professionals (radio, TV, newspapers) for outstanding contributions in highlighting public education and the role of The SCEA members.
