Last Congress, there was bipartisan agreement in both the House and Senate on A Stronger Workforce America Act (ASWA), which would have reauthorized WIOA programs and included significant improvements to workforce policy and funding targeted specifically to Opportunity Youth.
Unfortunately, ASWA was taken out of a must-pass end-of-year package in 2024 and was not signed in to law. That means Congress needs to hear that passing a WIOA reauthorization this year is still a priority for OY and organizations from around the country.
