  • Reducing Health Disparities Innovation Grant

  • Program’s Purpose
This special one-time grant, in an amount up to $5,000, is administered by the Tennessee Nurses Foundation (TNF) and funded through the American Nurses Association’s National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing, which reduces health disparities.

Persistent health disparities disproportionately affect Tennesseans based on race, ethnicity, income, geography, disability status, and other factors. These inequities are fueled by structural, social, and systemic factors that require evidence-based, community-informed solutions.

The grant will support innovative, rigorous, and actionable research that advances understanding or tests evidence-based interventions that promote health equity and improve outcomes for Tennesseans who are underserved or otherwise at risk for poor health outcomes.

Priority research areas for this request for applications include, but are not limited to:

    • Behavioral health
    • Maternal/child health
    • Social and structural drivers of health, e.g., housing, transportation, food security, employment, education
    • Health care access and quality, e.g., care navigation, workforce diversity, telehealth, etc.
    • Chronic disease prevention and management
