    Greater Lowell PRIDE in partnership with the City of Lowell, through the Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Office (CASE), invites artists to submit works of art to be considered for showing in City Hall during the month of June for the third annual PRIDE Perspectives show.   • General Information

  • Greater Lowell PRIDE in partnership with the City of Lowell invites artists to submit new or existing two-dimensional or three-dimensional works of art to be featured in this show. This show will be managed by the Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Greater Lowell PRIDE. Greater Lowell PRIDE is a volunteer lead group that produces the Greater Lowell PRIDE festival each year. Artists that self identify as a member of the LGBTQI+ community are strongly encouraged to apply, but all are welcome!

  • PROJECT DETAILS:

    • Location - Lowell City Hall, 375 Merrimack Street, Lowell, MA 01852
    • Medium - Artists may submit existing works they have created, or they may create new work for this show. Submissions can either be two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Work cannot feature any commercial, political, or religious content and should be appropriate for viewers fo all ages. Work must be human generated. AI creations will not be considered.
    • Selection - Selection will be made based on the proposals that receive the highest score on the selection rubric. Members of CASE and the Greater Lowell PRIDE committee will comprise the selection committee.
    • Number of Submissions Requested - The selection committee will pick up to 7 two-dimensional and 3 three-dimensional pieces for display.
    • Budget - There is no fee to participate in this show. Price tags cannot be displayed, but contact information is allowed.
    • Installation - The CASE Office will coordinate installation and deinstallation with each artist.

    PROJECT TIMELINE:

    • Call for Artists OPEN: March 17, 2026
    • Call for Artists CLOSES: April 17, 2026
    • Artists Notified by: Week of April 27, 2026
    • Work Due to the City: May 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM
    • Display Period: June 1, 2025 - June 30, 2025

    WAYS TO SUBMIT APPLICATION:

    • Online - Complete and submit this form.
    • Email - Submit all materials (see below) in a single PDF to case@lowellma.gov 
    • Hand-Delivery - Deliver all materials to the Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events in room 7 at Lowell City Hall, 375 Merrimack Street, Lowell, MA 01852

    Emailed and hand-delivered applications must include Artist name and contact information.

    An artist will be chosen by a selection committee for this project. Please upload your related work as well as your proposed artwork for the Pride Perspectives Show. For the proposed artwork, you may either submit a picture of the design or a brief conceptual outline of the piece.
