Dear Prospective Deputy-Sectretary-General applicant,

Thank you for your interest in joining the SMUSMUN 2026 Secretariat. Before continuing this application please make note of the following: Only one DSG will be chosen, the DSG must be a Grade 10 or 11 from SMUS, being DSG requires a significant amount of time commitment, being DSG means that you will be taking over the conference in 2027 as Secretary General. Submissions for DSG will close on May 6th, 2026 at 4:00pm PST. Applications after this time will not be accepted.

Please be aware that in this application you are being assesed on any and all responses that you give in the long-form response section as well as any other information that you provide. As such, please maintain the same degree of professionalism that you would have while conducting SMUSMUN related affairs such as emailing and meetings.

Expectations
As DSG you will be working closely with me to manage the logistics and preparations for SMUSMUN 2026. Outlined below are qualifications that you should posess along with assets to your application:

Qualifications
- Have been to several conferences (delegate and staff) and have a good understanding of MUN
- Experience working with a team
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Significant time available to plan and work on SMUSMUN
- Dedication to SMUSMUN, both this iteration and the following
- Must attend SMUS
- Must be in Grade 10 or 11 in the 2026/27 school year
  - This means you are in Grade 9 or 10 now
Assets
- Past Staff and/or Secretariat experience
- Past leadership experience
Please note that the actual roles and responsibilites of the DSG are subject to change and have yet to be solidified. In essence, you will assist the Secretary-General in any and all matters required of you and learn how run the conference in the future.
