Clinic Schedule:
June 8 and 15: Passing, Defense and Serving -
Players will learn how to transition to defense positions from base/home positions in front and back row.
Players will learn basic blocking techniques and blocking movement patterns.
Players will be taught the proper technique of overhand serving that includes top spin and float serves and introduced to jump serves. Intermediate and Advanced players will work on a variety of jump serve techniques as well as serving strategy.
Players will learn different serve receive formations, how to pass a variety of serves to their target.
June 22 and 29: Setting, Hitting and Blocking-
Setters will learn how to deliver effective sets to hitters in all positions; outside, middle, opposite and back-row.
Hitters will learn proper footwork for transitioning off the net, and how to make strong approaches to the net to attack.
Intermediate and Advanced Players will continue to work on offensive strategy: running quick attacks, slides, backrow hitting.
July 6 and 13: Skill Review and Team Drills-
On these final two days we will review all of the skills we have worked on through a variety of drills. On the final day, we will have a round robin tournament. Teams will be formed based on age and development level. Parents or guardians are welcome to watch, and see the players’ hard work in action! Fun Day!
