We conceptualize brands from the beginning, and launch them into the world. We have rigor in design, but lead with concept and feeling first. We work largely in consumer spaces, branding or rebranding for companies like David, Recess, Fly By Jing, Grindr, A24, and The BBC.

    About the Role 
    We’re looking for a Design Director to lead brand thinking and creative execution.This role is responsible for setting the vision and guiding teams in developing brand systems that are both strategically grounded and executed with exceptional craft. 

    You have deep branding experience and a strong point of view. You’re comfortable leading teams, presenting work directly to clients, and managing several projects at once without losing focus on the details. You’ll drive the thinking, set the tone, and ensure the studio’s work consistently hits the highest standard of craft. You don’t always hew to a personal style. You want each project to be the most unique and committed version of itself. You want to solve problems, not build a portfolio.

    This role plays an important leadership function within the studio. You’ll help mentor the design team, contribute to hiring and performance reviews, and help maintain the creative standards that define the studio’s work.

    Experience

    • 6-10+ years of agency experience in brand design.
    • Proficiency in figma and adobe. Fluency in design software and prototyping tools, with awareness of print and packaging production requirements
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand work across CPG, digital, and web.
    • Proven ability to lead creative teams. 
    • Exceptional client presentation and storytelling skills.

      Leads and mentors Designers and Senior Designers, providing thoughtful feedback and creative guidance. Helps develop the team’s capabilities while fostering a collaborative and supportive creative environment.
    • Team Management
      Plays an active role in managing the design team, including involvement in hiring, promotions, and performance reviews. Helps identify growth opportunities for team members and contributes to the long-term development of the studio.
    • Workflow & Oversight
      Oversees multiple projects at once while maintaining strong organizational systems and clear communication with internal teams. Ensures projects move forward efficiently while protecting creative quality and integrity.
    • Taste
      Strong visual references and cultural awareness across multiple industries. Consistently produces work that feels considered, restrained, and intentional.
