SCBWI NSW Pitch to Publishers 2026

Do you have a cracking proposal you’d love to pitch to two of Australia’s leading kids’ publishing professionals? Then the SCBWI Pitch to Publishers is for you!

A limited number of delegates will be given three minutes each to pitch their project live to a panel of publishers and agents, while the crowd watches on. This electric event is a rare opportunity to present your work to a group of captive professionals. Then take a deep breath, and hear what the experts have to say in response. Thrilling and exciting, there aren’t many career opportunities like this! Challenge yourself and see where it leads…

This is a free event and is open to all SCBWI members attending the SCBWI NSW Professional Development Day 2026 in person. For your pitch to be considered, follow the guidelines below.

Send us two pages of your Manuscript that can be read aloud if you are successful. Remember, on the day you will only have three minutes in total for the entire pitch!

Pitch to Publisher submissions will close at midnight May 13, 2026. Unfortunately, submissions that are late or that do not conform to the specifications cannot be accepted.

Successful applicants will be notified on or before May 29, 2026.

Your Manuscript Extract should include the following:

• Your Name and Email

• An extract of your draft manuscript to a maximum of 2 pages, double spaced in 12pt Times New Roman or similar

OR

• A picture book draft text to a maximum of 2 pages, double spaced in 12pt Times New Roman or similar
