This petition is intended to demonstrate community support as we seek approval from the Town of Cornelius for the proposed Aesthetic Reserves Esthetics School, a transition of an existing esthetics and skincare salon into a professional training facility for licensure and career preparation in esthetics.
The location currently operates as an appointment-only salon serving the Cornelius community, and the proposed school will continue this low-impact model through:
•Small class sizes
•Hybrid learning
•Scheduled student hours
•Appointment-only client services for training
Practical instruction will take place under licensed instructor supervision, in alignment with the standards of the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners.
As the Lake Norman area continues to grow, the demand for trained skincare professionals is increasing:
•Huntersville: ~9% population growth (2020–2024)
•Cornelius: ~9.4% population growth
•Davidson: ~7.7% growth
•Mooresville: 50%+ growth over the past decade
This program will:
•Provide licensed workforce training in a high-demand industry
•Create career pathways for local residents
•Support local businesses, spas, and medical aesthetics providers
•Contribute to economic activity through education and services
•Help meet the growing demand for esthetics professionals in the region
Community awareness and feedback are an important part of the municipal review process. We appreciate the support of our neighbors and local businesses as we work with the Town of Cornelius on this proposal.
