Juried exhibition of 2D or 3D works which explore the subconscious, mixing the dreamlike with the everyday, in strange and unexpected ways.
Any medium welcome except NO AI prompted ART by itself. (Not interesting - too easy. We do not want to get flooded with simple prompted AI generated artworks.) This work must come from your own brain, hand, eye and heart.
BUT you MAY use AI in combination with your personally made images that are made by you. It needs to be clearly stated in the description what your process is and how you are using AI in combination with hand made works.
Some inspiration or themes you might consider are:
• Mismatched realities: Combining objects or creatures that wouldn’t normally exist together in one space, like an ocean inside a teacup or a fish flying through the sky.
• Distorted time and space: Warping clocks or melting objects (a classic surrealist concept), or showing gravity-defying scenes.
• Dreamscapes: Setting the piece in a place that feels more like a dream than reality—perhaps something otherworldly or imaginary.
• The human condition: Surrealism often explores inner thoughts, anxieties, or desires. You could represent an emotional experience through impossible imagery, such as a figure being consumed by flowers or a head splitting into multiple planes.
This show will be in the front gallery only and be in conjunction with a VR event and other performances taking place in the back gallery during this exhibition.
There is no size limit. If you have a piece that has an unusual hanging or presentation, please indicate that on the JotForm. This includes the general weight of the piece, so we know what kind of pedestal or wall placement is needed to hang the work. For framed pieces please include the frame in your image. All work to be shown must be dry.
All work must be for sale. 50% of sales go to the artist, so please price your work with that in mind. The cost of the frame is to be included in your price. We do not pay for framing.
BEFORE YOU APPLY, PLEASE CONFIRM YOU CAN DROP OFF AND PICK UP YOUR WORK AT THE DESIGNATED DATES & TIMES. WE DO NOT STORE WORK!
We want to see 3 DIFFERENT pieces in your application, so we know that this is a style you work in regularly. IF you are juried into the show, only one piece will be chosen.
$35 Application Fee.
In Summary:
• 3 different pieces needed in JotForm
• Include the image of your frame if your piece is framed
• All works must arrive ready to hang or be on a pedestal
• Works must be dry and any glue or extending objects must be secured properly including hooks, wires and frames.
• We are not responsible for a piece that falls off the wall due to poor hanging devices on the artwork itself.
